Alamillo bridge, by Calatrava

The
Alamillo
Bridge , designed by Calatrava, was one of four bridges built as part of the Expo '92 preparations. Calatrava had originally planned to build two symmetric bridges with just a 1.5 kilometre long road separating them, but only one was built in the end, giving a bold asymmetric design. This bridge is the largest of the four and now forms part of
Seville ’s spectacular skyline. The Alamillo is a road bridge that links the city of Seville to
La
Cartuja
Island and its striking harp-like appearance has made it one of
Seville ’s most famous landmarks.
